Terms of Service

Effective September 12, 2026

These terms apply when you use 4K Photo Studio at 4kphoto.app (the “service”). By using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

The service

4K Photo Studio uses AI to restore, repair and colorize photos you upload. Results are generated automatically. We work to keep the service available and the results good, but we can't guarantee that it will always be available or that every result will meet your expectations.

Credits

• Each restoration uses 1 credit. Colorizing is an option on a restoration, not a separate charge.
• New visitors receive free credits, and signing in with an email address adds more, as described on the pricing page. We may change or end free credit offers at any time.
• If a restoration fails, the credit is returned to your balance automatically.
• Credits on a signed-in account don't expire. Free credits held without signing in are tied to that browser, expire 90 days after they were first issued, and are lost if you clear your browser data. Signing in moves them to your account.
• Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred, except through gift codes we provide in the app.

Payments and refunds

Credit packs are one-time purchases in US dollars, processed by Stripe. You need to sign in with an email address to buy credits, so purchased credits are always stored on your account. Nothing renews automatically.

We refund the credit used, not the entire purchase. If a restoration did not meet your expectations, contact us and we will refund the credit to your account. If you have a problem with a charge itself, contact us and we'll look into it.

Your photos

• You keep all rights to the photos you upload and to the restored results.
• You give us permission to process, store and transmit your photos only as needed to provide the service to you, including through the providers listed in our privacy policy.
• Only upload photos you have the right to use.

What you may not do

• Upload anything illegal, or any sexual content involving minors.
• Use the service to harass people, or to create images meant to deceive others about real people or events.
• Upload photos of other people in ways that violate their privacy or rights.
• Abuse free credits or gift codes, for example by creating accounts in bulk.
• Interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or access it by automated means other than the app.

We may suspend access or remove credits obtained in breach of these terms.

About AI results

AI restoration reconstructs detail that is missing from the original. Faces, text, backgrounds and colors in the result may differ from what the scene actually looked like, and colorization is an estimate. Don't rely on restored photos as historical, legal or identification records. Keep your originals.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the new terms.
